Lions Club of Belleville adds scoreboard to Field of Ability
BELLEVILLE – The Field of Ability has a new addition: a brand-new scoreboard.
The Lions Club in Belleville raised money to pay for the scoreboard for the field. A giant cheque for $11,072.99 was presented by the club to Mayor Mitch Panciuk in a ceremony at the field in Veterans Park at noon Tuesday.
Library features presentation on Apollo 11 and the Quest for the Moon
BELLEVILLE – On Tuesday night Belleville Public Library hosted a presentation about the Apollo 11 moon landing.
This year is the fiftieth anniversary of the moon landing. On July 20, 1969 the Apollo 11 lunar module with astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin inside touched down on the lunar surface eight years after president Kennedy announced the United States intention to put a man on the moon and get them back safely.
Gallery 121 hosting First Nations Art Show
BELLEVILLE – A chance to see local First Nations artists is available starting Tuesday in Belleville at Gallery 121.
It is the latest Indigenous art show, which will have its official grand opening on Saturday and will run until February 1.
